There are approximately twenty-five signs and symptoms,
says Dr. Robert Cantu, that coaches, athletic trainers, health care
professionals, parents and athletes should look for as indicating that
an athlete has suffered a concussion. Some like headaches,
amnesia, disequalibrium (poor balance)
and a stunned, dazed or confusional state, are present immediately,
while some, like difficulties falling asleep or mood changes or
irritability, may not appear for several days.
