Rafting: to transport in the form of or by means of a raft
Rafting is a recreational activity or sport in which one has to navigate a river or other bodies of water on a raft. The most popular variety is whitewater rafting, a thrilling and challenging activity on performed on rough water.
Rafting can be very dangerous. Over the years, knowledge and expertise of this sport have increased and most places require certification of outfitters, rafts, and raft leaders. Before most trips, there is a safety presentation and equipment check; it is IMPERATIVE that you wear all the necessary protective gear, especially a reliable life jacket and helmet.
MomsTeam's goal is to provide comprehensive information on rafting: advice on the equipment needed and how to buy it, a primer on the rules of the sport, and videos and advice from experts, parents, and manufacturers of rafting gear.
But to do that we are going to need your help. If you are a parent of a child who rafts or has rafted, we hope you will share what you have learned with other MomsTeam parents. Please consider writing a blog, contributing an article, posting on and/or hosting a Forum, or becoming a rafting expert. If you know of someone who used to raft or coach rafting who has knowledge to share, ask him or her to join. Together we can make MomsTeam a true community of sports parents!
