Skiing: the art or sport of sliding and jumping on skis

Skiing is a challenging and popular recreational or competitive cold-weather sport. Skiing techniques take a lot of practice to learn, therefore it is highly recommended that children, or novices, start out at a ski school.

Safety rules must be closely followed because reckless skiing endangers everyone on the mountain. Careless and reckless behavior will not be permitted. Wearing helmets is encouraged.

MomsTeam's goal is to provide comprehensive information on skiing: advice on the equipment needed and how to buy it, a primer on the rules of the sport, and videos and advice from experts, parents, and manufacturers of skiing gear.

But to do that we are going to need your help. If you are a parent of a child who skies or has skied, we hope you will share what you have learned with other MomsTeam parents. Please consider writing a blog, contributing an article, posting on and/or hosting a Forum, or becoming a skiing expert. If you know of someone who used to ski or coach skiing who has knowledge to share, ask him or her to join. Together we can make MomsTeam a true community of sports parents!
