Snowmobiling: Pronunciation: \-?b?-li?\
the sport of driving a snowmobile
Snowmobiling is a fun and exciting cold-weather sport that can be done recreationally or competitively. However, it can also be a dangerous activity. Drivers must be able to control their speed and direction, and therefore inexperienced drivers must start out slow.
Although it differs in each state, the general law is that children aged 10 to 12 can operate a snowmobile if directly supervised and on their own land. Children aged 12 to14 can operate if they are directly supervised. Children 14 and up may operate by themselves, with certification. Before you let your child operate a snowmobile, they MUST have helmets on and all other protective gear.
MomsTeam's goal is to provide comprehensive information on snowmobiling: advice on the equipment needed and how to buy it, a primer on the rules of the sport, and videos and advice from experts, parents, and manufacturers of snowmobiling gear.
But to do that we are going to need your help. If you are a parent of a child who snowmobiles or has snowmobiled, we hope you will share what you have learned with other MomsTeam parents. Please consider writing a blog, contributing an article, posting on and/or hosting a Forum, or becoming a snowmobiling expert. If you know of someone who used to snowmobile or coach snowmobiling who has knowledge to share, ask him or her to join. Together we can make MomsTeam a true community of sports parents!
