Do you know a wakeboarding coach in your community you think would be an ideal candidate to be YouthSportsParent's wakeboarding expert? Send his or her name to info@YouthSportsParents.com.
Wakeboarding: Balance & Agility
Wakeboarding: Pronunciation: \?w?k-?bo?rd\
a short board with foot bindings on which a rider is towed by a motorboat across its wake and especially up off the crest for aerial maneuvers.
Wakeboarding is an exhilarating water sport in which one rides a wakeboard over water behind a boat. Balance and agility are the keys to success in this sport. Patience is an important factor as well, because concentration and practice are needed when learning to balance on the wakeboard.
If your children want to wakeboard, lessons are highly recommended before they begin because this can be a very dangerous activity. Children must be safety conscious and always wear a reliable life jacket. Wakeboarding can be a recreational activity, or, once they are more experienced, competitive.
MomsTeam's goal is to provide comprehensive information on wakeboarding: advice on the equipment needed and how to buy it, a primer on the rules of the sport, and videos and advice from experts, parents, and manufacturers of wakeboarding gear.
But to do that we are going to need your help. If you are a parent of a child who wakeboards or has wakeboarded, we hope you will share what you have learned with other MomsTeam parents. Please consider writing a blog, contributing an article, posting on and/or hosting a Forum, or becoming a wakeboarding expert. If you know of someone who used to wakeboard or coach wakeboarding who has knowledge to share, ask him or her to join. Together we can make MomsTeam a true community of sports parents!
