Expert Wanted
Do you know a waterskiing coach in your community you think would be an ideal candidate to be MomsTeam's waterskiing expert? Send his or her name to info@momsteam.com.
Waterskiing: Pronunciation: \-ˌskē-iŋ\
the sport of planing and jumping on water skis
Water skiing is a fun, fast-paced sport in which a person on skis holds a tow rope and is pulled behind a motor boat in the water. This is widely a recreational activity but there are also many amateur ski clubs and tournaments, mostly popular in the Midwest.
In order for your child to participate in this activity, reliable life jackets must be worn (or you may find yourself jumping into the ocean after them in a panic!) Also, when starting out, balance must be practiced before the boat starts, and the boat must go at a slow pace so your child can practice getting used to balancing in the water while being pulled.
MomsTeam's goal is to provide comprehensive information on waterskiing: advice on the equipment needed and how to buy it, a primer on the rules of the sport, and videos and advice from experts, parents, and manufacturers of waterskiing gear.
But to do that we are going to need your help. If you are a parent of a child who water-skis or has water-skied, we hope you will share what you have learned with other MomsTeam parents. Please consider writing a blog, contributing an article, posting on and/or hosting a Forum, or becoming a waterskiing expert. If you know of someone who used to waterski or coach waterskiing who has knowledge to share, ask him or her to join. Together we can make MomsTeam a true community of sports parents!
