An essential part of the MomsTeam mission is to make youth sports as inclusive as possible. It is just as important for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth to have the opportunity to participate in sports safely without fear as other athletes. LGBT athletes and their parents face enormous and unique challenges and need the support of the entire youth sports community in facing them.
Our goal will be to provide comprehensive information on parenting the LGBT athlete. But to do that, we are going to need your help. If you are parent of a gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender athlete, or one who is in the process of confronting their sexual orientation or gender identity, we hope you will share what you have learned with other MomsTeam parents. Please consider writing a blog, contributing an article, posting on and/or hosting a Forum, or becoming our MomsTeam expert on parenting the LBGT athlete. If you know of someone who you think has knowledge to share, ask him or her to join or contact us. Together we can make MomsTeam and youth sports the inclusive places they both should be!
